Chargers’ season comes to an end against NYA

NORWOOD YOUNG AMERICA – The Dassel-Cokato baseball team had their season come to an end in the third round of the Section 5AA playoffs Thursday at Norwood Young America.
Raiders starting pitcher Jackson Paumen held the Chargers to just two runs, on two hits and one walk, while striking out 11.
The Chargers started off with a bang, scoring two runs in the top of the first.
Garrett Kelly was hit by a pitch to start the game, and after an out, Jackson Yanke doubled to drive in Kelly.
Parker Haataja replaced Yanke at second as a courtesy runner, and took third on a wild pitch, and scored on an error by the catcher.
That would be it for scoring for the Chargers, however, and the Raiders came right back with three runs in the bottom of the first, and two more in the second, and coasted to a 6-2 victory.
Jackson Yanke pitched well, giving up six runs (five earned) on seven hits and three walks. He struck out five.
Jaeden McKinley had the only other hit in the game for DC, a single in the top of the fifth.
The Chargers finished the season with record of 8-13 overall, doubling up their win total from last season.
