Irene A. Krejci, 76, of Hutchinson, MN, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.

A funeral service took place Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Vineyard United Methodist Church in Hutchinson with interment in the Dassel City Cemetery in Dassel, MN.

Clergy officiating: Pastor Jo Anne Taylor.

Organist: Lori Pagel.

Soloist: Rick Weispfennig, “In the Garden” and “He Is My Everything.”

Congregational hymns: “On Eagle’s Wings” and “The Old Rugged Cross.”

Casket bearers: Rick Weispfennig, Kevin Carlen, Steve Gillman, Ralph Kosek, James Gillman, and Dennis Johnson.

Irene Annette Krejci was born Nov. 29, 1947, in Litchfield, MN. She was the daughter of Claude and Katherine (Wessels) Gillman.

Irene was baptized as an infant at her grandparent’s home near Dassel, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Walker United Methodist Church in Howard Lake, MN.

She received her education in Cokato, MN, and was a graduate of the Cokato High School class of 1965.

Irene was united in marriage Aug. 25, 1979, to Richard Krejci at Walker United Methodist Church in Howard Lake. Irene and Richard resided in Litchfield and later moved to Hutchinson. They shared 22 years of marriage prior to the passing of Richard Sept. 23, 2001.

Irene was employed as a bookkeeper for Anderson Chemical Company in Litchfield, and Econo Foods in Hutchinson.

Irene was a member of Vineyard United Methodist Church in Hutchinson. She was also a member of the Vineyard United Methodist ladies club, Red Hat Society, and the Meeker County Horticulture Society.

Irene enjoyed volunteering at church, dancing, reading, knitting, and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Blessed be her memory.

Irene is survived by her sisters, Marvel Blom and her husband Donald of Hutchinson, Marcia Anderson and her husband Floyd of Apple Valley, MN; brother-in-law, Harlund Carlen of Cokato; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Katherine Gillman; husband, Richard Krejci; brother, Lowell Gillman and his wife Sadie; and sister, Mary Carlen.
