Cokato had 164 building permits in 2006, according to Don Levens, Cokato city administrator.

In Cokato there were five housing starts, with a valuation of approximately $633,000, Levens said.

Cokato had 14 commercial/industrial expansions for $6 million in value. The most notable of those was the new Dollar General store, CentraSota redevelopment, Olsen Chain and Cable, and Cokato Manor expansion, he said.

Cokato had 145 permits for general remodeling, decks and additions. The balance of the permits were for reroofing and mechanical, Levens said.

All new building permits in the Cokato area totaled $6.7 million in valuation, Levens said.
