DC offers year-round entertainment

The Dassel-Cokato Performing Arts Center has been the scene of year-round big-city entertainment like the Minnesota Orchestra, as well as fun-for-all community productions like “Suessical” the musical.
This past year, the PAC hosted several popular acts including the celtic band Gaelic Storm, Minnesota Orchestra, Monroe Crossing, Apollo Male Chorus, Lamont Cranston Blues Band, a community theatre production of “Suessical,” and the Children’s Theatre Company production of “Huck Finn.”
DC students have the opportunity to make use of the PAC during school-related programs such as choir and band concerts, plays, and awards ceremonies.
The 800-seat, air-conditioned auditorium is designed for the comfort of those who attend different functions. The state-of-the art sound and light equipment gives the experience of a professional theatre.
Many of the events are hosted by the Dassel-Cokato Arts Association, a nonprofit organization created to support fine arts in the area and bring quality entertainment to the DC community. For a nominal tax-deductable donation, a person can join the Arts Association and enjoy the benefits of purchasing advanced tickets, attending special member receptions, having voting privileges at annual meetings, and other “member’s only” opportunities. Look for the new 2007 season schedule in the mail.
Entertainment tentatively scheduled for the 2007-2008 season includes the return of the Minnesota Orchestra, two community theatre productions, JD Crowe and the New South band headlining for Monroe Crossing, a musical theatre production of “Songs from the Tall Grass,” the Concordia College Concert Band, “Hansel and Gretel” by Theatre Sans Fil, a Beach Boys cover band, and more.
